Steelhide works within established manufacturing and distribution channels to maintain material consistency, specification alignment, and quality control across distributed supply networks.
Why is the pricing more expensive?
It is a premium product that offers a lot of advantages compared to cheaper options for roofing materials. To compare apples to apples we need to compare it with standing seam metal roofs or concrete tiles, and the price is similar.
Compare to really elite roofing solutions such as clay tiles or synthetic composites is actually cheaper.
Here are some benefits:
Longevity: in the long run is cheaper than asphalt shingles because it lasts 3 times longer and its cost is far less than three times that of asphalt shingles
Piece of mind of not having to pass through the selection, purchase, and installation of the new roof for 50 years.
Wind resistance, impact resistance and fire resistance at the highest levels possible for any type of roof out there.
Heat reflectiivity en emmisivity that lower the cost of cooling the house during hot months
Above sheathing ventilation that eliminates ice dams and the need for snow guards during cold months
Noise control during heavy storms or hail storms, due to the extra layer of stone chips that make this product as quiet as concrete tiles.
Insurance companies will give discounts to premiums and won’t be harassing the homeowner every 8 years for a replacement.
What factors guide Steelhide’s material selection process?
Materials are selected based on performance characteristics, system compatibility, durability, and long-term service considerations across construction applications.
What are HOA restrictions?
We have dozens of approvals in many HOAs in several States, some of the most demanding in the Country (like the Wellington Polo Club) or many approvals from Marco Island and Naples in SWFL, wealthy areas.
There is also the new Florida Statute 720.3035
A major update to Florida’s HOA statute (effective May 28, 2024) requires HOAs to adopt written hurricane protection specifications for improvements on a parcel, and it prohibits HOAs from denying applications for the installation, enhancement, or replacement of hurricane protection that conforms to those specifications
How does the Roser panel system perform in high winds and severe weather?
Roser panels reinforce your roof’s structural integrity and help protect the home against wind, hail, and severe weather. After Hurricane Ian we observed many Roser roofs left untouched while surrounding roofs required temporary repairs. Our warranty covers 120mph winds (cat 3)
How do these panels handle heat and keep my home cooler?
Roser panels perform strongly on both reflectivity and emissivity. They reflect a high percentage of solar heat and any heat they absorb is emitted back to the atmosphere quickly. Emissivity is measured from 0 to 1, and our light color panels have emissivity values in the range of 0.92 and higher. Using battens with the panels adds above-sheathing ventilation which further improves heat performance.
Is the R-value important for these metal roofs?
No. R-value measures insulation for products like tiles where insulating one side from the other matters. For metal roofing the relevant performance comes from reflectivity, emissivity, and ventilation, so R-value is not the meaningful metric.
Are these panels heavy? Will they stress my structure?
They are lighter than asphalt shingles. That reduced weight means less structural stress on your home and wherever the local legislation allows it, they can be installed on top of the existing roof, reducing costs of installation (no tear off and less garbage disposal).
What about coastal or waterfront installations? Will saltwater exposure void the warranty?
The warranty is fully valid regardless of proximity to water. The panels use an eight-layer protection system, including a Galvalume steel core and a clear acrylic over-glaze, and are specifically engineered to resist corrosion. (The photo of this is more impactful)
What is included in the panels’ corrosion protection?
The alloy itself is a self-healing metal, which means that any rust won’t spread and it will heal itself just leaving a white scar. On top of that, the system uses multiple protective layers to shield the core and finish from the elements. Examples include the Galvalume steel core and a clear acrylic over-glaze. These work together to extend service life in harsh environments.
Anything else I should know about installation details?
If battens are used during installation, they create an air space for above-sheathing ventilation which improves thermal performance. Ask your installer about batten options if cooling performance is a priority.
